I think masturbation starts as an act of self exploration especially in adolescents. It can be considered the safest form of sex -no pregnancies or stds -but that doesnt mean that is is completely safe. During masturbation, feel good chemicals are released from the brain. These chemicals lead to relieving stress and insomnia among other things. Depending on masturbation to take care of such problems leads to habit, dependency and addiction. In addition, masturbation may result in physical injuries in both men and women.
