I have a PhD in immunology. After completing high school, I joined Maseno University to study Biomedical sciences which is basically biology, but focusing on the human health. I knew I loved sciences, including biology and had performed well in all the sciences but i also knew i could not be doctor-i hate to see people suffering. Especially children. So this was sort of a middle ground that took care of my interests. It was during my undergrad that I became interested in research.
After graduation, I worked briefly at ICIPE in Nairobi, before joining KEMRI wellcome trust in Kilifi as an intern which is basically training on the job! I met international scientists here and my interest in research grew further. I later registered for a PHD with Open University in the UK which I completed in 2014.
