Hi BLEXT: Hemorrhoids are simply are swollen veins around the rectum and anus. They come as a result of straining the muscles that make up those organs may be due to constipation, sitting for long hours or in women, pregnancy pressing down onto the pelvis. Sometimes being overweight can lead to that too.

      @ BLEXT BOY,
Hemorrhoids are swellings that contain enlarged blood vessels found around the anus. They occur in both males and females as a result of increased in abdominal pressure. Constipation is one of the instances where there is increased abdominal pressure, with frequent constipation resulting in hemorrhoids. However, in women, there is increased abdominal pressure during pregnancy which might also lead to hemorrhoids. Generally, eating food that have high fibre in cases of constipation reduces the chances of developing hemorrhoids, or worsening of already existing hemorrhoids. In some cases, these hemorrhoids might bleed leading to anemia. Such cases may require a surgery for treatment.
