      Hi Wilberforce,

The particles in solid are closely packed and held together by strong bonds where are in a liquid, there are more spaces between the particles and the bonds are not as strong. Imagine two groups of people, one the people are standing together in one big tight group hug, the other is standing around holding hands and swaying from side to side. Which of those two groups is easier to break? Liquids are like the group holding hands swaying while solids are like the group in a tight hug.
