We asked Cheryl to tell us her thoughts on winning I’m a Scientist, Get me out of here this January. Here’s what she said:
This last two weeks have been proof that learning never stops! I would like to thank you so much for reminding me that and also challenging me to read more broadly than I normally would.
Students, your questions have been very intriguing (…and naughty many at times) and I have had to research a lot in order to answer most of them appropriately. I will try answering more questions within this week, and please feel free to leave me a comment if you need us to chat further through your teachers. Thank you so much for voting me the winner! Yaay! I hope I will see you soon at Pwani University!
I am so grateful to my fellow scientists Ivy, George, Christina and Dan who stepped in many places I couldn’t get an answer and those who clarified concepts I understood very vaguely. I would like to thank the teachers who prepared the students for both the chat and ASK sessions and the I’m a Scientist team who made sure that the event ran very smoothly!
…and now to more reading, and science communication! Looking forward to implementing my project in conjunction with Pwani University students, management and primary schools within Kilifi! Thank you!
